Webroot Named First Recipient Of AntiSpyware Checkmark Certification In New Testing Category

New AntiSpyware Testing Category Goes Beyond Detection; Requires AntiSpyware Solutions To Fully Protect Against Installed Versions of Malicious Spyware

BOULDER, Colo., February 14, 2006 Webroot Software, Inc., the leading provider of antispyware software and other security technologies for the enterprise and consumers, today announced that its awardwinning antispyware solutions, Spy SweeperTM and Spy Sweeper Enterprise, are the first products to receive Checkmark AntiSpyware Certification in the newly established AntiSpyware Installed category from West Coast Labs, a leading independent testing organization for information security products.
Checkmark (www.checkmark.com) is a system which tests and certifies information security products such as antivirus solutions, antispyware solutions firewalls, vulnerability assessment, and VPN to realworld standards. The newly established AntiSpyware Installed certification category requires antispyware solutions to not only detect malicious types of spyware, but also to fully protect users by blocking and removing installed and new versions of spies.
