Textile workers from the central Iranian city of Isfahan blockaded a major highway from the city to the Iranian capital Tehran on Monday and Tuesday in protest to not being paid their salaries. The protestors, Zadeh Weaving Company, complained that they had neither received their salaries for the past three month nor their annual bonus, run news agency ILNA reported.

Some 300 angry workers from the small industrial town of Ghazveen, southwest Iran, blockaded the town's main road during a demonstration Wednesday after not receiving their salaries for more than six months. The protestors from the Poushineh Baft factory said that some 700 workers had not been paid for more than six months. In total, they were owed 630 million rials (70, 000 dollars), they added.

The women from the village of Keresht blockaded the road from neighbouring Boumehen to the Iranian capital, forcing all traffic to stop in both directions. The women, several of whom had brought their young children with them to the demonstration, protested government inaction in providing social welfare and services in their neighbourhood.
