DSL.net Announces New and Extended Agreements

Multi-lines Expected to Generate Additional Revenue, Improve Margin

NEW HAVEN, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 3, 2004--DSL.net, Inc. (NASDAQ: DSLNC), a leading nationwide provider of broadband communications services to businesses, said today that it has recently signed significant new multi-line agreements with key business customers and expanded an existing relationship with a national construction firm.
The transactions involve the following:

-- Signed an agreement with New Jersey-based Children's Aid and Family Services to provide high-speed data communications services to 10 locations. Children's Aid and Family Services was founded in 1899 and is one of the largest, regional not-for-profit human services organizations serving children, families and communities throughout northern New Jersey.

-- Signed an agreement with a Northeast furniture warehouse company to provide DSL.net's NETlink VPN (virtual private network) service for reliable, secure connectivity between its corporate headquarters, distribution center and nearly 30 store locations in half a dozen states. NETlink VPN provides a secure, reliable and cost-effective private network solution compared to the deployment of traditional network architectures.

-- Added 20 high-speed data lines in eight states over the last few months to provide broadband communications services to one of the country's oldest and most successful private construction companies. The new locations bring the total number of company business offices and construction sites currently serviced by DSL.net to more than 100 lines.

-- Reached agreement with a Midwest-based global manufacturer and distributor of specialty medical products, to provide business-class SDSL and fractional T-1 broadband access to nearly 30 sites in more than a dozen states.

"These new agreements provide us with customers that are among the leaders in their categories, while the expansion and extension of an existing agreement continues to solidify our customer base and provide us with ongoing strong recurring revenue," said Keith Markley, president and chief operating officer of DSL.net. "The addition of fractional and full T-1 lines under some of these agreements, as well as a new VPN customer, underscores our continued progress in selling higher-margin services that result in new revenue streams and improved margins."
