Second Annual Savannah International Boat Show Opens March 5

The Savannah International Boat Show opens Friday, March 5 and runs through Sunday, March 7, at the Savannah International Trade & Convention Center and in-water on the Savannah River.

The show will feature powerboats, sailboats and yachts up to 70 feet, with over 85 different boat lines represented both in the Trade Center, as well as outside display space and in-water on the Savannah River.

Some of this year's highlights include fishing seminars, presented by 15 fishing experts with topics ranging from "Extreme Redfishing in the Lowcountry" by Captain Jack Brown, to "Determining a Time and Place to Fish" with Captain Gordon Rogers. Other seminars include "Gray's Reef National Marine Sanctuary" as well as "Georgia's Offshore Artificial Reefs: Anglers, Diver and Scientists Working Together"

The Dolphin Project will do a seminar about how this non-profit organization has been studying Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphin along inner-coastal Georgia and southern South Carolina since 1987. The Show's website has a complete list of seminars.

Other special features include Bass Pro Shops Kids Fishing Clinic and racing boat champ Michael "Hurricane" Floyd and his Mercury sponsored racing boat. There will be over 70 nautical related vendors selling everything from docks and engines to nautical jewelry and boat shoes. The show will also offer prizes, including a Mercury Marine Inflatable Boat and 9.9 engine, as well as chartered fishing trips, dolphin cruises and much more.
