Netegrity Provides Identity and Access Management Infrastructure for Idaho Student Information Management System Project
State-Wide Project to Provide Access to Critical Resources for School Administrators, Teachers, Parents, and Students
WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 14, 2004--Netegrity, Inc. (Nasdaq: NETE), a leading provider of identity and access management solutions, today announced that Netegrity's identity and access management products have been chosen for The Idaho Student Information Management System (ISIMS) Project. The ISIMS Project will provide a state-wide student information management system designed to provide new online resources for parents, teachers, students, and all stakeholders of education in Idaho.
The ISIMS Project purchased Netegrity IdentityMinder(R), Netegrity SiteMinder(R), and the SiteMinder Secure Proxy Server to manage the wide range of users and their access to Idaho's Web-based resource for real-time education information and tools. When fully implemented, every public school in Idaho will use the system, providing access for nearly 300,000 users across the state.
Currently there are 17 separate student information systems in use across the Idaho school districts. The ISIMS Project will provide a centralized, uniform system that includes a host of Web-based resources and tools for education stakeholders, such as a student information management system, including grades, transcripts, and schedules; a curriculum management system; and data analysis for reporting on standardized tests and analyzing school district performance. This system will enable the State of Idaho to provide an efficient means for reporting on requirements for legislation such as the No Child Left Behind Act.
Using Netegrity's products, ISIMS will be able to efficiently manage the ever-changing user population and the resources to which they have access. The self-service capabilities within Netegrity's products will enable users to update their own information, lessening the burden on IT administrators to keep track of changes such as when students change addresses and classes. In addition, each school system will be able to manage their own population of users by leveraging Netegrity's delegation feature.
"The ISIMS Project is a tremendous undertaking for the State of Idaho and in order to help ensure the success of the project, they must be able to effectively manage a large, ever-changing population of users and their access to sensitive information," said Stephanie Feraday, vice president of Marketing at Netegrity. "We are excited to be at the center of Idaho's innovative project to ensure that all of the constituents with a stake in the Idaho educational process have access to relevant information."
