Stock Option Trading In their ongoing battle to save their Piscataway farm from condemnation, the Halper family raised a new issue yesterday that they say could prevent Piscataway Township from taking over their land.

That farm was slightly bigger and, therefore, more desirable, and East Brunswick land is every bit as valuable to developers as Piscataway's is.

Currency Day Trading During a condemnation hearing in New Brunswick, the family's attorney, John Reilly of Newark, told Superior Court Assignment Judge Robert Longhi that the 75-acre farm is in an agricultural development area and thus falls under different criteria than normal condemnation procedures.

On Monday, the Halper family rejected the state's offer of about $3 million in return for the development rights to 64 of their farm's 75 acres. They called the appraisal "woefully unrealistic and incredibly inadequate" and charged that politicians working against them had manipulated the market.

But the town held off after the Halpers began taking steps to enter the farmland preservation program. When the family declined to do so on Aug. 12, the township reinstated its condemnation efforts.
