TheStreet.com Hires Leading Financial Experts Jon Markman and Chuck Hill as RealMoney.com Contributors

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 14, 2004--TheStreet.com, Inc. (Nasdaq:TSCM), a leading multimedia provider of financial commentary, research, analysis and news, today announced that leading financial journalist Jon Markman and financial industry analyst Charles (Chuck) L. Hill, CFA, have joined TheStreet.com as contributing writers for "RealMoney.com." Markman is writing a daily stocks column and Hill is examining corporate earnings trends, as well as providing his analysis of the market and economy.

He was managing editor and columnist at MSN Money from 1997 to 2002 and an editor, reporter and investments columnist at the Los Angeles Times from 1984 to 1997. He is also the author of the best-selling books "Swing Trading" and "Online Investing." Markman has received a Gerald Loeb Award for Distinguished Business and Financial Journalism; Society of Professional Journalists national and regional awards; and a Los Angeles Press Club award. He is a graduate of Duke University and the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.

Hill is the CEO of Veritas et Lux, a firm providing investment research on corporate earnings, the economy and market strategy. Prior to his role at Veritas et Lux, he spent 11 years at Thomson First Call as director of research. He has more than twenty years of experience as an analyst at Kidder Peabody, Prudential Bache, Quantum Associates and Scudder Stevens & Clark. He is the outgoing president of the Boston Security Analysts Society and the incoming president of the Boston Economic Club. Hill holds a master in business administration degree from Harvard University and a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering and a bachelor of arts degree in history from the University of Delaware.
